Bangkok newspapers in the last few days have reported a press conference in which top commanders of all the branches of the Thai military denied any plans for a coup, rumours of which have apparently been circulating.
The same newspapers have also reported the decision of Thai military commanders that they will not attend the General Border Committee meeting in Bogor, nor allow Indonesian military observers along the border, both of which the Thai foreign minister agreed to at the 22 February ASEAN foreign ministers’ meeting in Jakarta.
If there were a coup, how would anyone know the difference?
