NGO roll of honour

[Sent to the Cambodia Daily, Cambodia Herald and Phnom Penh Post on 6 August 2013. Published in the Cambodia Herald on 7 August.]

In the aftermath of the recent election campaign, during which “illegal immigrant” frequently seemed to be shorthand for “Cambodian citizen from an ethnic minority”, I think it is important to recognise and honour those local human rights NGOs that campaigned publicly and vigorously in defence of the voting rights of Cambodians who are not Khmer. From my observation, they are the following:

 

 

It is possible that I may have missed some who deserve to be included on the honour roll. If so, I hope your readers will send in their names.
